Genre:

The genre i took is psychological thriller.As this genre it self is a combination of so many genres like mystery, horror, thriller and many more. 

 why I chose psychological thriller ?

There were many genres to choose from but movies made in this genre always used to amaze me. the darker tone and suspense they carried is always worth watching. examples that led me took psychological thriller for my opening brief.

• smile (2022)

The movie is directed by Parker Finn the movie revolves around a psychiatrist who encounters a patient, who feels that someone is following her and whenever she look a them they have a weird smile on their faces.The death of the patient not only traumatized the doctor but affected me badly too.the movie not only follows amazing direction and cinematography but side by side did a perfect job of chilling my blood. Smile is movie that I personally thinks is one of the most tense and horror movie I have watched.

• the dark knight (2008)

The movie is directed by one of the legendary directors Christopher Nolan.The movie was nominated for 8 Oscars and won 2,for best sound and editing which this movie totally deserves as every scene in the movie just hooks you with the movie.and second for best actor in support to Heath Ledger, who portrayed the role of the joker with full perfection.Not only him but Christian Bale played the role amazingly.The colors, the dark tone was just true example of cinema.the script writing for each character were just mind blowing, the movie gave us some of the most memorable dialogues. 

                                  

• joker (2019)

Joker is cult classic movie based on the comic character "joker". the movie is directed by Todd Phillips. the movie it self a master piece, the movie passionately show how the effect of society can change your personality from good to evil. from the background scoring till it tone and pacing every thing was just perfect. Amazing work done by Joaquin Phoenix as he has played the role of joker with such dedication that you can't let your eyes move for even a second. 

• zodiac (2007)

Zodiac is a perfect example of thriller movie the suspense ,the feel the movie carries is just mind blowing. the movie is directed by David Fincher. the movie is packed with some of the best cast members like Jack Gyllenhaal , Robert Downy Jr and Mark Ruffalo. the movie carries a tense tone and the essences of mystery the movie have is just remarkable. the movie just traps your attention till end and the fabulous work done by the director and the cast is just worth watching.

• inception (2011)

No doubt the the movie it self is a master piece,the movie has won 4 Oscar. the revolves around heist not any heist but the heist through your dreams.The movie is directed by one of the best directors of all time Christopher Nolan.the cast of the movie is also filled with famous faces like Leonardo Di Caprio, Cillian Murphy and many more.from the script to acting and screenplay is mind blowing.The story of the movie is just structured with such excellence. The movie slowly tries to hook you and makes you confuse to guess what going to happen next. the aura of suspense and mystery the movie creates makes it worth watching.

 

• Us (2019)

US is a psychological thriller and a mind twisting movie,directed by Jordan Peele. the plot of the movie revolves around a family who encounters a group of mysterious people who when looked closer were there lookalikes. the horror aspect of the movie is just so terrifying. All the actor did a fabulous job in terms of acting. the feel this movie gives is just undeniably horrifying. Jordan as a director did a decent job.

 

Narrative & Representation:

The type of genre narrative I am selecting is nonlinear. The overview of my story follows a man who murders people every night but one day as he was about to kill a man he falls down and wakes up tied to the chair and was about to be murdered with a the person he was killing. . To end the opening brief we added a cliffhanger of him, if he is going to commit suicide or not, making the opening brief more intense.the story consists of  two character that are protagonist antagonist.
